Thinking of Myrtle Beach News

Tallest Man at Myrtle Beach's Margaritaville!

Tallest Man at Myrtle Beach's Margaritaville!

Know anyone who lives in Myrtle Beach? I don’t personally but I know people who own vacation homes there.  Afterall, it’s only about a 3 hour drive from Raleigh.

Almost a year ago today we were having a beach weekend there. Never in our wildest nightmares would we dream there would be a wildfire on an east coast beach…and a busy one like Myrtle Beach. I mean hurricane destruction, yes…but not a wildfire! Of course, this is what’s going on in the news now… But natural disasters can strike anywhere and the longer I’m around, the more I realize that the word “never” is becoming obsolete.

Last year we were at the new Hard Rock amusement park that just opened up there in Myrtle. They’ve got a bunch of bikes sitting near the park entrance…that must be a biker paradise to see all these sparkling shiny and very detailed painted bikes. But inside the park, the highlight is a thrill Led Zeppelin roller coaster ride. My husband went on it three times as there were no lines. Lines take the fun out of rides.

So yeah, it’s a ‘lil shocking when you hear about fires near a place you’ve been. I hope everyone is safe in Myrtle and they prosecute the starter of the fire…I mean why on earth would you put a fire in your yard…yeah that’s smart thinking, not!  How ironic this occured during Earth Day week.  Here we are trying to preserve our Earth, and then there are situations caused by humans, destroying it!
