Good Mexican Fast Food in Raleigh!

Moe's RaleighOne of my favorite Mexican fast food joints in Raleigh is Moe’s Southwest Grill. There’s a few of ‘em in Raleigh. There’s also Chipotle and Qdoba that I like too. They’re all pretty much the same but they’re slightly differently and usually you end up liking one better than the other. It’s like, are you a Coke or Pepsi person (or neither)?  That’s rhetorical.  Btw, I’ve always been a Diet Coke gal but these days no soda in my diet. Little tip: when you can the soda fix, it’s that much better when you get to have one!

Backing up some…. I remember around 2000, burrito places were starting to crop up. There was a little shop near where I worked at the time that made these big, fat burritos where I could make 2-3 meals out of one burrito. They really stuffed it with the beans and rice. I can’t remember the name but it was local chain in Northern Virgina like Three Amigos or something like that.  It was very refreshing to see a fresh fast food place as I was so tired of Taco Bell and junk Mexican food.

Then I started seeing other Mexican food places crop up like Chipotle and Baja Fresh (another one in Virginia). I can just eat Chipotle chips and guacamole with an Izze Clementine Orange drink (do you know what I’m talking about?).

Well this time we decided to go to Moe’s. You know you’re at Moe’s because the staff usually yell “Welcome to Moe’s!” as soon as you enter the door. So if you’re having a lethargic day, just walk into Moe’s and you’ll get a jolt of quick energy. I’ve never walked out and walked back in and seen if they shout their welcoming again. I think, unlike robots, they actually don’t perform again. Funny stuff.

But more seriously, the food is really good there. They have burritos, tacos, fajitas, quesadillas and salads. Mmmm…I’m thinking of lunch already!
